Dr. John & Janice Pelonero
Pastor John Pelonero has been in Gastonia since 1984 when the Lord gave him the vision to build New Covenant Church, as well as those within the church. His vision also includes the building of a bible college, and planting churches locally, and abroad. Prior to this, he was in West Islip, NY (Long Island) and plated a church there. He founded, and started New Covenant Church in October of 1985 with only 9 people. He has been the senior pastor of New Covenant Church since that time. Pastor John came to Christ on August 1, 1974 at 8:00PM in Allentown, Pennsylvania at Calvary Temple. He was instantly delivered from drugs, and shortly thereafter called into ministry. In November of 1974 he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Pastor John and his wife, Janice, serve together in ministry as the Senior Pastors of New Covenant Church.

Christian EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Pastor Mike & Christy Moss
Christy Moss is the Christian Education Director. She oversees the teaching and ministry for those aged birth to 18 years. Christy has been a member of New Covenant for 30 years. She is a graduate of Gaston College with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal, and has Children's Ministry training under Willie George Ministries. Christy has a heart to reach the churched, and un-churched kids with the Gospel that points them to a lifelong commitment to Christ! Together, Christy and her husband, Mike, lead the children's ministry.
Pastor Lee & Christy Turner
Pastor Lee Turner serves as the youth pastor at New Covenant Church. Lee was born and raised in Gastonia; graduating from Ashbrook in 1995. Lee has been active in church his entire life and has held leadership roles in Men’s ministry, marriage ministry, being a board member and working with Royal Rangers prior to becoming a Youth Pastor. In 2006 he graduated from Belmont Abby College with a degree in Ed. Studies and has been employed at Siemens Energy for 18 years. Lee has been married to his Jr. High sweetheart, Christy, for 18 years and they have 3 children; Zoe, Zeth and Zach.
Lee's heart is to serve the Lord by serving and helping others, in any capacity. He hopes to instill that same enthusiasm of loving the Lord to our youth seeing their lives challenged and changed.
Natasha & Justin Simpson
Natasha Simpson serves as the Pre-School Coordinator at New Covenant Church. She has been a member of our church since she was eleven years old. She graduated from Cleveland Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She works as a full-time nanny in Charlotte NC. Natasha and Justin work together as a team to provide a safe, fun and loving environment for children to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
WORSHIP & YOUNG Families PASTOR
Pastor Mark & Nichole Ryder
Pastor Mark Ryder serves as the Worship & Young Families Pastor at New Covenant Church. Mark joined the staff at NCC in May 2014. He grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from MSU with a Ministry Degree. After his education he married his wife, Nichole, and their journey in ministry began in Jacksonville, Florida. He served two years at New Life Christian Fellowship, both in Choir and Young Adults. In 2010 God positioned Mark and Nichole to move to Scranton, Pennsylvania to help plant and establish City Lights Church as the Creative Arts Worship Director. Mark's desire is to lead people into the life-changing presence of God through a biblical example of worship and praise. Together Mark and Nichole lead the Young Families.
First Impressions coordinator
A native of Gastonia, Chuck has been a member of New Covenant Church for over 12 years. Chuck has a B.S. from North Carolina Statue University, and has also attended Appalachian State, as well as University of North Carolina-Charlotte as a graduate student. Chuck is a retired Special Education teacher from Gaston County Schools. He leads our First Impressions Team, handles administrative duties, teaches classes, assists in planning and leading special evens, answers phones, works with the food ministry, and helps in any area he's needed. Chuck has been a follower of Christ for over 50 years. He loves people and is always read to lend a helping hand.
